Week Two: The Inner Court/ Sanctification/ Becoming like Him
Table of Showbread Part 2
"Foreshadowing of Christ"

As we learned yesterday, The Table of Showbread was built with gold and the priests set new bread on it each week, six pieces on each side. But we also learn along with the bread there was also a little frankincense. This aroma set the space. Bread sustains, and Jesus is our Bread.
When He was a small boy, the wise men brought frankincense and gold and myrrh to Him. This is foreshadowed in the Tabernacle.
In the Table of Shewbread we see Frankincense in the bread, gold in the
Table and myrrh in the oil.
This was the same oil used to anoint priests and kings.
Jesus is King, our High Priest, the Bread of Life, the Word that satisfies our soul.
Another foreshadowing of Christ is when a drink-offering was poured out by the priest on behalf of all Israel, such as on the Levitical convocations, new moons, and the morning and evening offering of the daily lamb, the wine was poured out in the Holy Place, on the floor of the Tabernacle, close to the Table of Showbread.
Here we have the bread and the wine, a portrayal of the Communion service—
the body and blood of the Lord Jesus.
As the lamb was being burned on the Altar of Burnt Offering at the opening and closing of each day, the wine was being poured out in the Holy Place by the priest.
Can you see Calvary in this ceremony?
In God’s presence, when we’re consuming the Word, mixed with the Holy Spirit, we will get a deeper understanding and revelation of what the Word is saying. This is called rhema.
It is life giving and speaks and continues to speak.
In this way, we can see God through His Word.
