SUNDAYS 10:30a | WEDNESDAYS 7p

Day 10- A solid foundation

God’s Word promises us that even in the worst of times, He is our anchor.
Today’s Scripture
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 2 Timothy 3:1-5

14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.  2 Timothy 3:14-17

Additional Scripture
Hebrews 4:12-13 ; Matthew 7:24-27

Reflect on the Word
Like a house with a solid foundation or a tree with a healthy root system, our lives can only withstand the turbulent shifting of the times when Christ is at the center of our life, faith and practice. God’s Word has brought order out of chaos, calmed the wind and rain, and raised the dead to life; these same words of truth can anchor your life amid storms in whatever season you are facing.

3. The Laver

CLEANSING AND PREPARING
The next step in the Tabernacle was a bowl of water where people would wash themselves before proceeding any closer to the holiness of God. For us, this represents checking our hearts and motives and surrendering our lives to God as an important part of daily prayer.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. ROMANS 12:1

Because of Jesus' sacrifice, we can confess our sins to Him and receive complete forgiveness and a fresh start. In prayer, humbly and sincerely turn away from your sins and allow God to cleanse and renew you. Then, surrender your attitude, heart, and mind to Him. Romans 12:1 directs us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices. Take a moment to reflect on the list below and submit each area as an offering to God:
• My Eyes—What I Look At
• My Ears—What I Listen To
• My Mind—What I Think About
• My Tongue—What I Speak About
• My Hands—What I Do

Prayer + Contemplation
1. As you assess your life, what scriptures are you meditating on to keep you anchored in Christ through dark times?
2. Pray for those around you who are walking through a difficult season (e.g., health issues, relationships, finances, ministry). Ask God to give them encouragement and hope, that they would spend time in His Word and among His people.
3. Ask God to give His Word deep and lasting roots in your heart to keep you steady and stable in seasons of disruption and disorientation.
